In a little while, vaccination against the coronavirus can also start in the Netherlands: the first shot will be taken on 8 January. The locations where this will take place are now known. These include sports complexes and event halls, RTL Nieuws reports.
On January 8, the first healthcare workers in nursing homes will be vaccinated. Ten days later, on Monday, January 18, vaccination really gets going and vaccinations are taking place at the 25 major locations. It has been decided to set up one vaccination location per GGD region where people can come, in order to use the vaccines as efficiently as possible and not to waste anything.
The 25 vaccination sites:
- GGD Limburg-South: Mecc in Maastricht
- GGD Limburg-North: Frederik Hendrik Kazerne in Venlo-Blerick
- GGD Brabant-Zuidoost: Indoor Sports Center in Eindhoven
- GGD West Brabant: Amphia Hospital in Breda
- GGD Zeeland: Zeelandhallen in Goes (and provisionally as an extra location hospital Zorgsaam in Terneuzen)
- GGD Hart voor Brabant: Former distribution center of the Jumbo in Veghel
- GGD Gelderland South: Empty warehouse in Wijchen
- GGD Gelderland Central: Sports Center Papendal in Arnhem
- GGD North-East Gelderland: Sports hall Mheenpark in Apeldoorn
- GGD Zuid-Holland-Zuid: Sports hall Deetos in Dordrecht
- GGD Rotterdam: Rotterdam the Hague Airport in Rotterdam
- GGD Hollands Midden: Event and Convention Center ECC Leiden
- GGD Haaglanden: P2 ADO Stadium in The Hague
- GGD Utrecht: Expo in Houten
- GGD Flevoland: In Lelystad (exact location to be announced later)
- GGD Gooi- en Vechtstreek: In Huizen (exact location will be announced later)
