What happens when you hang a repeatedly accused Warzone cheater on a lie detector?
A potential cheater within the Call of Duty: Warzone community ShiftyTV finally seemed to be unmasked this week during a livestream on Twitch† The build-up to the unveiling was immense, but it ended with a fizzle.
Warzone cheater on lie detector
The ‘reveal’ was set up by the streamers at Full Squad Gaming. They invited ShiftyTV to show them in the studio that the professional Warzone player did not use cheats, so details Dexerto†
Initially, the gamer had to play on a ‘clean’ PC to show that he is just as good on a computer that doesn’t have any cheats on it anyway. Next up was a lie detector and this is where the Warzone debacle begins.
The one who ran the lie detector test is John Grogan. This man has appeared on a variety of TV shows and in other settings as an expert on lie detectors. But he is also controversial. Grogan was labeled a liar and charlatan by a former FBI agent. Partly for this reason, many viewers criticized the ‘expert’.
After ShiftyTV took the lie detector test, Grogan would share his experiences with the world. We would then get an indication of whether the tournament player uses cheats or not based on the outdated technology.
But just before the reveal, the Full Squad Gaming stopped the livestream. We will never get the answer to the key question. The stream has since been removed and the reply was never broadcast as Grogan turned out to be unreliable at the last minute.
