According to the spokesperson for the Vietnamese Ministry of Health, quoted by the site Suc Khoe goes Doi Song, Ma Van Nhat has lived for almost two decades with a “normal life”, being able to eat and drink without problem. The Vietnamese authorities are now looking for the doctors who performed the operation in 1998 in the province of Bac Kan (North-East of Vietnam).
