The Rosacee.com site offers Valentines and Valentines to send personalized virtual cards to declare their love without blushing. All e-cards will be animated by Cliona, a fictional character with rosacea.
Rosacea affects nearly 4 million French people, or about 10% of the adult population. Still 8 out of 10 people don’t know they have rosacea.
Rosacea is an inflammatory disease of vascular origin affecting the skin of the face. It is a progressive disease which is expressed according to one or more stages whose progression is totally unpredictable. Each stage corresponds to a different clinical form: Transient intense redness (flushes) may appear on the nose and cheekbones, accompanied by a sensation of heat, burning and/or tingling. Permanent redness (erythrosis) and small dilated vessels (rosacea) may also appear gradually. On these red areas localized inflammatory pimples can occur (papulo-pustules), and thus deeply alter the skin of the face until a persistent oedema.
These symptoms can be aggravated by various factors:
– exposure to the sun,
– hot foods and beverages, spices, alcoholic beverages,
– heat, wind, cold and sudden temperature changes,
– stress or intense physical effort.
There are different solutions depending on the stage of the disease: local treatments with anti-inflammatory effects, oral medications, electrocoagulation and laser…
Only the doctor can put in place a suitable treatment with the aim of acting on the symptoms and spacing out the flare-ups.
