The electric version of the Toyota Proace City Verso debuts on the French market at € 35,820, a price that places it right between the Citroën ë-Berlingo and Peugeot e-Rifter, with which it shares its architecture and powertrain. The utility is billed from € 29,965 excluding VAT.
The partnership between PSA (now Stellantis) and Toyota on city cars is coming to an end, but the one for utility vehicles is continuing. It is in this context that the Japanese manufacturer today markets the Proace City Verso Electric, a “cousin” of the Peugeot e-Rifter, Citroën ë-Berlingo and Opel Combo-e Life. The Japanese MPV takes over the powertrain, namely a 136 hp electric motor powered by a 50 kWh lithium-ion battery, giving it between 260 and 280 km of autonomy in the WLTP cycle depending on the version chosen.
It offers Eco, Normal and Power driving modes, but only the latter allows maximum power to be used. The “zero emission” van is available in two lengths (4.40 m or 4.75 m), and Toyota promises capacities similar to those of the gasoline and diesel versions with up to 800 kg of payload, 750 kg of towable load and 4.4 m3 loading volume depending on the configuration chosen. A single-phase 7 kW charger is supplied as standard, while a three-phase 11 kW charger is optional.
Three finishes for the electric MPV
With a starting price of € 35,820 excluding ecological bonus, the Toyota Proace City Verso Electric is between the Citroën and Peugeot entry-level models. Its finishes are modeled on those of its thermal equivalent. The equipment of its basic version Dynamic includes:
- manual air conditioning;
- automatic lighting of lights;
- automatic windshield wipers;
- hill start aid;
- recognition of signs;
- Lane departure warning;
- fatigue detector.
The Executive configuration notably adds:
- dual-zone automatic air conditioning;
- reversing camera;
- front and rear parking cameras;
- 8 inch central touch screen;
- fog lights ;
- help to stay on track;
- auto-switching high beam headlights.
The top-of-the-range Design additionally receives a navigation system and 17-inch alloy wheels, among other things.
