“Tobacco remains the leading cause of preventable cancer: it is considered that more than 30% of all cancers depend on tobacco. It is time to say STOP!” On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, May 31, the League Against Cancer has decided to launch a dynamic and colorful prevention campaign, completely new, to raise awareness among as many people as possible of the benefits of smoking cessation.
What do I gain by quitting?
The campaign features 6 different motivations through 6 particularly “punchy” visuals to speak to as many people as possible. The League believes that the youngest, for example, may be more motivated by the savings made when you quit smoking or by their newfound good breath. After 30 years, smokers may be more sensitive to arguments about the effect of tobacco on fertility or on breath.
“But above all, you reduce the risk of getting cancer ! “ insists the League which does not forget its first fight against the disease.

This awareness campaign is also an opportunity for the League to experiment with a new action to take charge of tobacco dependence by creating support groups for quitting smoking. “We are proud of the positive results of the establishment of the first self-help groups. This group work shows encouraging results, particularly for people who do not have access to individual care or for whom mutual support is essential. a lever for stopping“ underlines Professor Albert Hirsch, administrator of the League against cancer.
