Leftover items from a deceased idol or celebrity are often worth a lot of money. So is this handwritten letter from Steve Jobs.
Steve Jobs hasn’t been with us for over 10 years now. Yet the Apple founder is still regularly in the news. Certainly in 2021, since this year is the “anniversary” that Jobs passed away. Items belonging to the best man are regularly auctioned for considerable sums, such as an old cover letter. This time, a handwritten letter from Steve Jobs goes under the hammer.
Auction house Bonhams is responsible for the loss of this letter. They even estimate that the letter will yield at least 170,000 euros and a maximum of 260,000 euros. It is currently possible to make an offer. The letter is from 1974 and was written by Jobs just before his 19th birthday. It is a personal letter, where Jobs talks about a spiritual trip to India to learn more about Buddhism.
The letter has been well preserved over the years. The auction is in Los Angeles and is part of Bonhams’ History of Science and Technology event. The handwritten letter from Steve Jobs was addressed to his good friend Tim Brown at the time.
