A week dedicated to memory in all its forms
A week entirely dedicated to Memory in all its forms for everyone. For the 1time once in France, the Scientific Council of the Observatoire B2V des Mémoires – chaired by Prof. Francis EUSTACHE, Director of the INSERM unit of cognitive neuropsychology and functional neuro-anatomy of human memory – will be accompanied by researchers from all over the world to share research and discoveries on memory with scientists, the general public and schools.
The B2V Group and the Observatoire B2V des Mémoires in partnership with the Cyceron medical imaging center, the Maison de la Recherche en Sciences Humaines de Caen and the Relais d’Sciences Association are organizing the Memorial Week from September 15 to 20 in Caen in Lower Normandy.

• September 18: Day dedicated to schoolchildren and a Memorial Championship
The B2V Observatory of Memories and its experts organized this day in the form of conferences, edutainment workshops.

“Virtual Lab Sniffy Rat” workshop : Virtual animation on learning in laboratory animals.
“Stimulate your memory” workshop : Cognitive functions rehabilitation software
In the project context ” A grandparent, a parent, my teacher and me “, a memory championship will end the day and put in competition 5 teams composed of 2 students and a senior.
” Memory and learning are at the center of school life. The means of learning have changed very significantly in recent years with multimedia and with easier access to information. Thus, we wanted to involve schoolchildren in Memory Week, in a fun way. In a constantly changing world, these new technologies can be a partner or a source of memory impairment and we need to be aware of this from an early age. Says Professor Eustache.
• September 19: Performance of the play performed by patients with Alzheimer’s disease
In order to improve the memory capacities of patients with Alzheimer’s disease, an innovative project has been set up by a team of researchers: the production of a play. In 2012, this project received the Human Sciences Prize from the France Alzheimer Association. ” The idea of creating a play performed by patients with Alzheimer’s is quite original.
