Lanqi has what is called “a gift”. From the first glance that this little woman lays on you, she guesses the reason for your coming. This eye contact is bolstered by a quick exam she performs by touching your arm (to measure body temperature), inspecting your tongue, and scrutinizing your eyes. No need to try to cover up the possible evil you are hatching, Lanqi goes through you like a scanner.
For more than ten years, clients from all walks of life, “aged from 3 months (for the youngest) to 99 years”, as she explains with a laugh, have come to benefit from this empathy and her exceptional know-how. The Tui Na massage method that she practices “tailor-made” overcomes many problems. “Fatigue, stress, edema, cellulite, insomnia, sciatica, osteoarthritis,” she lists. She assures him, if acupuncture relieves, her technique “heals” and “prevents diseases”.
Her massages are inspired by the Tui Na technique. This practice, dating back more than 2,000 years, constitutes alongside acupuncture, dietetics, Chinese pharmacopoeia and energy exercises (Qi Gong and Tai Chi) one of the pillars of traditional Chinese medicine. The Tui Na is based on a set of manipulations intended to soothe the ailments of the body and the mind, in the purest tradition of Feng-Shui which seeks to rebalance the Yin and the Yang.
Lanqi’s unique technique, taught to modelers at the four spas she runs in Paris, has been used in her family for three generations. His gift was passed on to him by his grandfather at the age of ten. She lived in China, and went from village to village to transmit “her power” to the inhabitants. “We also healed animals, like tigers,” she recalls.
An inner awakening
Less talkative about revealing the secret of her method, Lanqi lifts part of the mystery when her hands are put into action. From the pads of the fingers it stimulates acupuncture points and works to “unblock” the knots that oppose your inner well-being. Far from the relaxing massage, the pressures are energetic and dynamic. Lying on the modeling table, we do not understand everything that is happening, but we feel that the “cleaning” is done inside. Detox, purification or “magic”, call the massage what you want. One thing is certain, we first come out “empty” of energy. Then spreads the strange impression that this massage has awakened something in us.
