You know the famous Native American tipi 🪶 but this one has nothing to do with it… TIPI is an acronym, it stands for “Sensory Identification Technique for Unconscious Fears”. How to practice the TIPI method?
The TIPI method can be practiced anywhere, sitting or lying down, as long as you are away from the source of stress (when you have identified it). It allows you to let go and stop feeding the symptoms, by avoiding their rise in power.
Step 1 : sit quietly, in a secluded place, and close your eyes. If the stress, panic or anxiety attack occurs in the evening, lie down or stay in bed.
2nd step : let the feeling and the symptoms invade your body. don’t try to fight. The first time may seem a little difficult to you, because you surely have routines to try to thwart the feeling of discomfort: a little heart coherence, for example… Here, on the contrary, you have to let it go without reacting!
Step 3 : observe, connect to the sensations of your body and let them evolve. Without doing anything, without trying to analyze, stop or control because this would interrupt the process. Feel the beating of your heart, your throat tightening, the tingling that spreads or moves through your body, your pains, your breathing. Try to perceive how all this moves, changes until it is completely dissipated…
Above all, do not resist. You will find that the phenomena will disappear on their own in a short time.
