Summer is just around the corner, and now the traditional slimming race. To sport a dream figure on the beach, many of you start chasing sugar and fat as soon as the first rays of sun appear.
And thus eliminate a certain number of foods. Among them, the lawyer. We think it is too fatty or too caloric. “It should be remembered that when you want to lose weight, it is totally inadvisable to exclude this or that type of food. We cannot say that a single food makes you fat. It’s a whole set of combined factors that come into play, and nutritional balance is done over a week. We can never repeat it enough and even if everyone knows it, we must insist on the fact that the ideal is to eat everything in reasonable quantities.“, insists nutritionist Dr. Catherine Serfaty-Lacrosnière.
What are the health benefits of avocado?
It should be remembered that the avocado has many virtues. A recent scientific study demonstrates that its components have a beneficial effect on our microbiota. That is to say all the good bacteria located in the intestines. However, by better nourishing this microbiota, it has been proven that all the fats in our diet (not just those in avocado) are eliminated more easily. And the benefits of this fruit do not end there. “Avocados contain monounsaturated fats like oleic acid similar to that found in olive oil. It is an interesting element in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases“, specifies Dr. Serfaty-Lacrosnière.
Her rich in fiber also has great advantages. As surprising as it may seem, it contains more than vegetables. The fibers thus make it possible to be satiated more easily, and to facilitate intestinal transit. It also contains significant amounts of vitamin B9, essential for pregnant women. Its high content of vitamin K offers an interest for better blood clotting. It is also rich in potassium, a mineral that helps drain the body and therefore eliminate waste more easily.
Another interest, antioxidants that fight against accelerated aging of cells. Or lutein, favorable to the prevention of age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
In this almost idyllic picture, the question of whether it can be consumed in a slimming diet is essential. Good news, the answer is yes.
How often (and how) to consume it for the line?
“The avocado contains 205 calories per 100g, says Catherine Serfaty-Lacrosnière. You can easily consume it half a day as part of a balanced diet“. Let’s add that some studies even show that regular consumption would reduce abdominal fat… So many reasons not to exclude it from your meals.
However, be careful with the accompaniments. Of course, no question of watering it with too rich vinaigrettes. Instead, bet on guacamole with lime and cilantro. Under these conditions, you do not risk putting your line in danger.
