The Château de Savigny-lès-Beaune will part with several models from its collection. Among the lots on display, there are exceptional pieces such as Mercedes 190SL, a Simca 8 or a replica of Bugatti Type 37A. The auction will be held this Sunday, July 3.
In addition to its historical heritage, the Château de Savigny-lès-Beaune (21) is also renowned for its numerous collections, including that of racing Abarths. Due to a reorganization, the association of friends of the castle has decided to part with a part of the car collection by Michel Pont, the former owner of the estate, who died in 2021. The sale is organized as part of the first edition of the Salon Prestige Auto Beaune, at the Palais des Congrès and will be held on Sunday July 3.

Models from another era
Among the 51 lots offered for sale, some date from a time when the automobile was in its infancy. This is the case, for example, with the presence of two Citroën B2s, including a rare van version, estimated at between €2,000 and €3,000. This is the second model produced by the rafter builder. There is also a Citroën Type C or “Trèfle”. She is nicknamed Petite Citron because of her pale Grapefruit launch color. A pre-war Renault KZ is among the items for sale as well as a Bugatti Type 37. On the other hand, the latter is a replica, manufactured by the Argentinian workshop Pur Sang Argentina. Very faithful to the original model, its highest estimate reaches €320,000.

Michel Pont was an Abarth lover and the Club of the Scorpion brand is based at the Château de Savigny-lès-Beaune. Moreover, an event commemorating the anniversary of the disappearance of Carlo Abarth takes place there every five years. Four Abarths will go on sale this Sunday: a Fiat Ritmo 130 TC, a Lombardi OTAS 820 and two Autobianchi A112s. We will also note the presence of a Peugeot 205 GTI whose plastic moldings would need to be cared for as well as a Renault Clio Williams.
Exceptional convertibles
A few prestigious convertibles are part of the sale. One of the 1,200 examples of Fiat Dino Spider is estimated between 100,000 and 150,000 €. Thanks to its line signed Pininfarina, the yellow convertible will easily change hands. A sublime Simca 8 Sport from 1950 is offered at auction. The copy in question houses under its hood a four-cylinder 1.2 of 50 hp. Since its entry into service more than 70 years ago, the convertible has accumulated less than 40,000 kilometres. A sublime Jaguar E-Type gold color having covered only 2,000 km must go under the hammer. Finally, the highlight of the show is a pair of Mercedes 190 SLs. One is gray with an interior trimmed in black leather, while the other has a beautiful beige dress and flamboyant red interior.
