I have a light mole on my face just under the nose that I would like to have removed.
Last week I went to two treatment centers for an exploratory meeting. Both dermatologists indicated that they saw no problems in removing this birthmark without a scar (cutting).
But one wants to do the treatment by shaving off the mole with an electric loop. The other says, however, that he wants to do it with a ‘Fractional CO2 laser’ for the best result.
Can you tell me which of these two treatment methods gives the best results and the least risks? I searched the internet and could find both methods as common, but no comparison anywhere.

In both techniques, the mole is evaporated. The electrical loop vaporizes the mole by the heat of electrical current through the wire. That’s what the CO2 laser due to the high energy of the laser light.
Both of these techniques are suitable for the scarless removal of unpigmented raised moles, such as those often found on the face.
Since both techniques lead to evaporation, the results will be similar. It is exactly what the doctor has the most experience with.
