Family life can sometimes be tumultuous. Some parents are sometimes helpless when their children do not behave as they should. Fortunately, there are certain key behaviors that promote a happy family life. To be put into practice tonight with the children…
For a family to be fulfilled, the children must feel comfortable. By making efforts to gain their confidence, or changing their routinethey will be more fulfilled within the family.
A family doesn’t have to be large to be a happy family. A happy family life goes through little things whose addition is always profitableto parents and children alike.
1. Involve children
The first goal, within the family, must be to facilitate and improve communication between all its members. By inviting a child to repeat what you have just said to him or by pushing him to think about it, the little one will feel involved in the discussion.
It is also a way for you to check that he understands what is being said and what is happening. By communicating more, understanding each other better, we can only live more pleasantly.
2. Use indirect compliments
When you want to congratulate your child, do not always do it in the most banal way, saying to him: “That’s good, my darling”. Eventually he won’t find much meaning in it.
On the other hand, if the compliment is addressed through another person, like your spouse, the child will feel much more valued because he will know that people are talking about him and his prowess. Say for example: ” Daddy was impressed with what you did“.
3. Take time when you have it
Take advantage of the weekend to welcome the children to your room, in the morning when you wake up. For fifteen minutes, exchange kisses and questions on the weekend schedule. Sometimes it’s by hanging out that you make your family happy…
During the week, you and your children generally do not have this time, which is why it is necessary to take on Saturday or Sunday. On this day, avoid planning a golf course or a solitary run as soon as you jump out of bed!
4. Make a meal like no other
Determine one evening of the week when everyone in the family should occupy a different place at the table. Just breaking the habit gives everyone a different perspective of family.
It is also a good way to make illusory the repeated quarrels between a brother and a sister for example. The conversation topics change in a natural way, you will note it with a certain disbelief.
5. Experience nature for a happy family life
During an outdoor outing, introduce your child to the beauty of nature. Smell the flowers, touch the trees, observe the stars at night: do not see this as an educational activity but rather like an experience which will allow the child to feel like part of a larger, infinite whole.
6. Do away with lengthy explanations
Having to keep repeating the same thing over and over again is a source of stress very important for parents. For example, say only once that it’s time to leave the square. Don’t justify yourself by adding that it’s dinner time or bath time.
It’s just a habit to take and it will considerably reduce the possibilities for the child to discuss what he is asked to do. It is also a good exercise to train him in respect, discipline and obedience, three necessary conditions for a happy family life.
7. Relax with the family
Children, too, experience stress in everyday life. Their nervousness, their cries, their impatience are there to testify to it. More and more parents are introducing their children to relaxation exercises such as yoga, stretching or tai chi.
Above all, don’t hesitate to try it yourself because considering that television is enough to calm them down would be a big mistake ! If, in addition, you can carry out this type of activity in a collective and family way, it will certainly be one more step towards a happy family life!
