Family life can sometimes be tumultuous. Some parents are sometimes helpless when their children do not behave as they should. Fortunately, there are certain key behaviors that promote a happy family life. To put into practice this evening with the children …
For a family to flourish, children must feel at ease. By making efforts to put them at ease, or by changing their routine, they will be more fulfilled within the family.
A family does not have to be large to be a happy family. A happy family life goes through little nothing whose addition is always profitable, for parents and children alike.
1. Involve the children
The first goal, within the family, must be to facilitate and improve communication between all its members. By inviting a child to repeat what you have just told him or by making him think about it, the little one will feel involved in the discussion.
It is also a way for you to check that he understands what is being said and what is happening. By communicating more, by understanding each other better, we can only live more pleasantly.
2. Use indirect compliments
When you want to congratulate your child, do not always do it in the most banal way, saying: “That’s good my darling”. In the end, he will no longer find much meaning in it.
On the other hand, if the compliment is addressed via another person, like your spouse, the child will feel much more valued because he will know that we are talking about him and his prowess. Say for example: ” Dad was impressed with what you did“.
3. Take time when you have it
Take advantage of the weekend to welcome the children to your room when they wake up in the morning. For about fifteen minutes, exchange kisses and questions on the weekend program. Sometimes it’s by hanging out that you make your family happy …
During the week, you and your children generally do not have this time, which is why it is necessary to take saturday or sunday. On this day, avoid planning a golf course or a solitary race as soon as you jump out of bed!
4. Make a meal like no other
Determine an evening of the week that everyone in the family should occupy a different place at the table. Just breaking the habit gives everyone a different perspective on family.
It is also a good way to make repeated quarrels between a brother and a sister illusory, for example. The conversation topics change naturally, you will see it with some disbelief.
5. Discover nature for a happy family life
During an outdoor outing, introduce your child to the beauty of nature. Smell the flowers, touch the trees, watch the stars at night: don’t see this as an educational activity but rather like an experience which will allow the child to feel like the element of a whole, vaster, infinite.
6. Put an end to lengthy explanations
Having to keep repeating the same thing is a source of stress very important for parents. For example, only say once that it is time to leave the square. Don’t justify yourself by adding that it’s time for dinner or a bath.
It’s just a habit to take and it will drastically reduce the opportunities for the child to discuss what he is asked to do. It is also a good exercise to train him in respect, discipline and obedience, three conditions necessary for a happy family life.
7. Relax with the family
Children also experience stress in everyday life. Their nervousness, their cries, their impatience are there to testify. More and more parents are introducing their children to relaxation exercises like yoga, stretching or tai chi.
Do not hesitate to try it yourself because considering that the television is enough to calm them down would be a big mistake ! If, in addition, you can carry out this type of activity in a collective and family way, it will certainly be one more step towards a happy family life!
