Suzuki is currently preparing a 5-door version of its Jimny. A prototype of this body was found on Indian roads by Google Street View. In addition to its extended wheelbase, the car should have a new electrified engine. Launch scheduled for 2022.
And we are talking about the Suzuki Jimny 5 doors. An extended version of the Japanese 4×4 was indeed surprised, not by a spy photographer, but by Google Street View in India.
Funny proportions
Currently available only in three-doors, the Jimny should receive an extended body in the course of the year 2022. Devoid of any camouflage, the surprise car by Google Street View displays dimensions revised upwards: wheelbase and length should gain about 30 cm. However, the whole shows unbalanced proportions due to maintaining the size of the front doors, alongside which the rear doors appear very small.
A light hybrid engine
The Jimny 5-door should have a mild hybrid powertrain and all-wheel drive.
The cubic style is still on the program, however, in detail, the Suzuki Jimny 5-door should differ from the small model by a specific grille. Another element that will evolve, the engine. The newcomer should swap the atmospheric 1.5 of 102 hp currently equipping the 3-door version (only sold as a 2-seater utility version to escape the ecological penalty), with a turbo unit associated with a light hybridization. The 4×4 transmission will always be on the program.
