The French and the diet: start, weigh yourself, stop … and start again!
The GSK SGP / Ipsos * study reveals some strong points of reference for French people affected by diets: balance, clothing or even cooking, health and pleasure!
Thus the trigger for the diet is strongly linked to the events of daily life: 43.3% of French people affected by weight loss start a diet when their clothes are too small, 19.8% do so in January after the holidays. end of year, 17.7% before holidays, 13.6% in September after summer and 11.2% after pregnancy.
Weight is therefore an element monitored very closely: 87% of French people weigh themselves at least once a week when dieting, 32.7% of which almost every day!
Finally, 78.9% of French people affected by the plans have taken between 1 and 3 over the past five years, and 21.1% more than 4! The average duration of a diet is rather short: the diet lasts from 1 to 3 months for 42% of them, between 4 and 6 months (20%), less than a month (18.5%).
