The latter has checked a sample of 1,000 people in recent months: 17% of them were “medically unjustified”, no pathology having been noted on the day of the check.
15% of the employees checked do not respect their outing hours or do not answer the doctor. 6% indicate false or incomplete addresses on their declaration, making checking impossible.
3% do not attend the summons given to them. Finally, 1% refused the doctor’s check-up.
Regarding the exit times, which 15% of employees on sick leave do not respect, 8% say they do not know them, or think they can go out freely.
However, the hours of discharge are specified on the work stoppage sheets. From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the employee is required to be at his home. It can be checked by Social Security or by his employer via medical control companies.
Please note, nearly 16% of the people in this sample are on sick leave for depression or overwork.
In 2008, a system was developed between the Primary Health Insurance Fund (CPAM) and private monitoring bodies. It consists of suspending the daily allowance paid by the CPAM when a check carried out by the employer was deemed unjustified, upon presentation of the medical report. This device could be generalized for 2010.
