The use of sex toys is no longer a taboo. Almost half of the French have already had fun with these erotic toys at least once in their life.
Sex toys invite themselves into the sexual life of the French. In the space of ten years, sales of vibrators, anal plugs and geisha balls have exploded, in particular thanks to the internet. Today, nearly one in two French people, and as many men, confess that they have already used it once in their life, against barely 10% ten years earlier. According to an Ifop poll commissioned by Dorcelstore.com on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, the use of these instruments of pleasure is no longer a taboo.
And it’s not just a one-night stand. Almost a quarter of the French would have had fun with these accessories in the previous year. Experiences that are mostly done in pairs. Solo masturbation would indeed be a received idea. Among those surveyed, 45% have already used it at least once with their partner. However, it appears that women are more inclined to use it alone: 40% have taken a risk against 19% of men. Among the latter, it is mainly bisexual men who venture to use these erotic toys (54% against 13% of heterosexuals).
A pleasure for two
It is often assumed that handling the dildo is more of a female affair – either to please yourself or to titillate your partner. In fact, three-quarters of women in a relationship currently say they are ready to use a sextoy, or try a new one, to spice up their lovemaking or their sexual games if their partner offered it to them. But more than 80% of men respond positively to the suggestion.
An appetite that may seem surprising even though sex toys do not necessarily help women reach orgasm. Just under one in four do this more easily with an accessory. Despite everything, they contribute to sexual well-being and strengthen the playful and erotic side of intercourse.
What to give ideas to lovers on the eve of Valentine’s Day. Moreover, in view of this survey, opt instead for vibrating toys. French women seem to be much more attracted to vibrating sex toys than realistic dildos, or classic Geisha balls. Likewise, connected sextoys that can be controlled remotely seem to cool the French a little by their level of sophistication.
