Many French people use new technologies in their sexuality. But how often and why? Which items are the most coveted? We tell you everything.
How do the French see the evolution of their sexuality over the next few years in the face of the emergence of new technologies? According to a survey* According to Harris Interactive, 68% of respondents expect their sexuality in ten years to be relatively close to what it is today, except for a few things.
Sex and new technologies
A large majority of respondents believe that new technologies related to sexual practices will be available within 10 years, but 64% believe that there are already realistic and customizable models of sex dolls and sex toys adapted to the morphology ( 53%). 33% of French people mistakenly believe that connected underwear that can be activated remotely by a partner is a futuristic technology, when it already exists and 25% of them believe that there are solutions today for “virtual reality” sex and 21% for long distance sex.
45% of French people say they are ready to try at least one of these technologies. 32% of them are particularly interested in devices to amplify orgasm such as sex toys adapted to the morphology, remote controlled sex toys (28%) or connected underwear (25% ).
In general, respondents are particularly interested in technologies allowing them to interact more extensively with their partner: for 52% of them, it is a question of living new experiences with him or her, to go further in their sexual experience or in their fantasies (47%), or even to take more pleasure (41%). For 33% of French people, on the other hand, these technologies are used to have fun alone. Interesting data: this survey also shows that men are more interested than women in the use of these technologies in their sexuality.
The use of new technologies in sexuality arouses a mixed reception among the French. Because if 52% of them believe that this is an opportunity to bring partners living at a distance closer (67% of couples who do not live together think so), 68% of French people believe that they can also accentuate individual practices to the detriment sexual relations between partners.
