The arrival of Renault as the main sponsor of the Roland-Garros tournament had been formalized not long ago. We now know the Losange program for the 2022 edition with the presentation of the Mégane E-Tech and the public premiere of the new Austral.
After 38 years of good and loyal service, Peugeot is no longer affiliated with the French Open tennis tournament. Renault, which recently ended its association with the Cannes Film Festival, is thus refocusing its communication around the yellow ball and has rushed into the breach. This partnership includes expected commitments but also some surprises for this edition (May 22 to June 5, 2022).
A brand image to promote
Affiliating with a world famous sporting event like the Roland-Garros tournament is a boon for Renault, especially since it has officially signed for at least 5 years. Located in Paris, Porte d’Auteuil, the complex attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators each year and provides worldwide TV coverage. In addition, the manufacturer is now collaborating with the French Tennis Federation (FFT) ” because the partnership is based on two common strategic pillars: sustainable mobility and social responsibility “says the builder.
So what does this mean? First of all, with this objective of offering a 100% electric range by 2030, Renault will make available a fleet of 160 vehicles for 2022, 100 of which will be electric Mégane E-Tech. He also wants to participate in the creation of two tennis courts and support disadvantaged young people at the event, which will be financed by the “Let Challenge”. The constructor ” allocate a sum of money every time the ball hits the side of the net and lands in the opponent’s court.
Come and discover the Renault Austral
Renault’s advertising will go through the presence of its logo ” on the nets of the five main courts (Philippe-Chatrier, Suzanne-Lenglen, Simonne-Mathieu and courts n°7 and n°14), throughout the duration of the tournament, from the qualifications to the finals “. To get to the stadium, Renault has devised several solutions : car-sharing thanks to the ZITY by Mobilize service, a journey aboard an RATP bus from the 1930s or the borrowing of one of the 5 historical models made available, retrofitted for the occasion.
The highlight of the show is none other than the presence of products on the Renault stand. This space of 150 m2 will welcome the electric Mégane E-Tech but also the new Austral SUV, which will be unveiled to the public for the first time. Star of French car shows and events, the Renault 5 Prototype will also be there.
