VTEC in your BMW
The BMW M3 is synonymous with the six-in-line. Sure, there was once a nice foray into the V8, but the straight-six is what it’s all about. But remember that the original BMW M3 only had a four-cylinder. That’s why this heathen engine swap isn’t so bad after all. Incidentally, this is not an M3, but merely a 318i. This 3-series received the F20C from the Honda S2000 (AP1, for the enthusiasts). It was featured at the SEMA auto show in Las Vegas.
Why build a BMW 3 Series with Honda S2000 engine? Of course you have this as ready knowledge, but the F20C engine from the Honda S2000 once held the record for the most powerful turboless engine, when it came to horsepower per liter. The 2.0 produces 125 hp per liter in Japan. It wasn’t until Ferrari started to interfere with the V8 in the 458 that Honda had to hand over the record. And let’s be honest: you can lose with dignity at Ferrari.
10 hp less for this BMW 3 Series with Honda S2000 engine
In America and Europe, the engine produces only 240 hp. The tachometer needle runs merrily up to 8,900 rpm. In this BMW 3-series with Honda S2000 engine, the power has not increased significantly. The look has been thoroughly modified with a Pandem body kit and 17-inch Rotiform rims. The rear spoiler comes from the BMW M3. The suspension comes from the German KW and the brakes are from a later generation M3. Inside are stuff from Momo. How do you find the result?
