Amédée Gordini in the spotlight
The exhibition is already revealing the contours of its program, featuring a plate dedicated to Amédée Gordini and presented in partnership with the Mulhouse National Automobile Museum (Schlumpf collection). Visitors will have the opportunity to (re) discover the talents of this mechanic who, from the early 1930s until his death in May 1979, continued to improve vehicles using simple techniques. The man who is nicknamed the “Sorcerer” left his mark on French motorsport. At Rétromobile, ten Gordini will be exhibited, including the Simca 5 Spider (1937), the first of the line, the 42 type 32 (1956), the ultimate F1 developed by his racing team or even Renault: Dauphine (1957), R8 (1964) and R12 (1970). A Type 18S coupe by Juan Manuel Fangio will be on sale at the stand of the Artcurial auction house, where it will be auctioned on February 4.
