Less than a year from the launch of the Mégane E-Tech Electric, the 1st prototypes, assembled at the Technocentre in Guyancourt (78), are traveling on the open road. The production of the final series will begin in September 2021 for marketing in March 2022.
[Mis à jour le 06/09/2021] While the prototypes will continue to circulate until the launch of production, the Renault Mégane E-Tech Electric has removed its camouflage during the Munich Motor Show. It will be marketed in March 2022 with two motors and two batteries. L’argus invites you to take a tour of the owner.

The future Mégane E-Tech Electric is taking shape. Thus, after the presentation of the eVision concept in the fall of 2020, the first prototypes of the compact crossover are out. But after the classic camouflage, like that of the models surprised by our Spanish colleagues from Cochespias, the MéganE (pronounced Mégan “i”) plays it less discreet with intense and assumed colors.

The Volkswagen ID.3 in the sights
The electric crossover will be based on the new CMF-EV platform with a wound rotor electromotor placed on the front axle and capable of reaching a power of 160 kW (220 hp). Its battery will be available in two capacities: 40 or 60 kWh. This will allow autonomy of up to 450 km to be displayed. This is certainly less than announced by the ID.3, the main rival of the Mégane Electric. However, Renault hopes that its technology will allow it to position itself under the Volkswagen, in terms of price. The first copies of the Mégane Electric could be marketed at the end of this year.
