Renault now offers the EDC dual-clutch automatic transmission for the Kangoo, the finishes of which are changing their name. This development is accompanied by changes in equipment and presentation, but also a price increase of up to €750.
Renault is already reviewing the range of the third generation of Kangoo, marketed less than a year ago, to apply the new names of finishes already introduced on other models. From 1er March, the Zen configuration is therefore renamed Balance, while the old Intens level takes the name of Techno. This is not the only change. The EDC dual-clutch automatic transmission is now available with the TCe 130 and Blue dCi 115 engines, only in Techno finish, as an alternative to the standard manual gearbox. A new price increase accompanies these developments. It amounts to €350 in petrol and €750 in diesel, bringing the Kangoo’s base price to €25,500, or €600 more than when it was launched. The Renault MPV will however be able to count on the disappearance of the thermal versions of its competitors Berlingo, Rifter and Combo Life to quickly make people forget this increase…
Slightly revised equipment
The new designation of the finishes is accompanied by minor changes on the equipment and presentation side. The monitoring of blind spots which was standard until now becomes an option, grouped with the repeaters of LED indicators in a pack invoiced 250 €.
In return, the stabilization system reacting to side wind joins the standard endowment. The lock/unlock button disappears from the door handles, as does the “Renault” inscription under the logo at the rear. Kangoos with EDC gearboxes can be equipped, as an option at €1,200, with a driving aids pack including in particular adaptive cruise control, semi-autonomous driving on the motorway and in traffic jams as well as the parking brake. Automatique.
Compared to the Zen finish, the Equilibre version sees its grille, its foglamp contours, the strapping of its gear lever, the central inserts of its sliding doors as well as its headrests become black. The closed glove box joins the standard equipment. This includes in particular:
- manual air conditioning
- 8-inch central touch screen
- reversing radar
- LED spotlights
- sliding rear side doors
- electric front and rear windows
- 16-inch sheet metal rims with hubcaps
