My hearing aid is building up earwax. The doctor has now removed the earwax twice, but I think that’s quite a journey: I can’t relax and get dizzy. Is there another way to remove earwax? I am a man of 73 years.

If you go to the ENT and expect an attack of vertigo, the situation is already so fraught that it can hardly go well. It therefore seems best to me to find a method that you can perform yourself. You can do it yourself with oil (this will dissolve the grease) or with a special metal or plastic spoon, a method often used in Asia. Such a spoon can be bought via the internet, among other things. Google for example ‘earwax cleaning spoon’. GPs are sometimes afraid that the eardrum will be damaged with such methods, but the eardrum is so sensitive that the chance is not great. Otherwise, please consult your doctor.
