Ranking of hospitals: future doctors prefer Nantes University Hospital

The top 5 of this ranking does not change compared to last year. We find the Hospices Civils de Lyon in 2nd position, then the CHUs of Montpellier, Rennes and finally Bordeaux in 5th position. Note that Nantes is widening the gap, however, this year since we go from 68 places to 390 places of difference between the first two. The explanation: he is first in the choice of general practitioners.

The tumble of the University Hospital of Amiens

On the other hand, the bottom of the table is completely upset. Among the progressions, the CHU de Reims made a good 7 places and, while it was last in 2015, finds itself in 21st place. The Amiens University Hospital lost 4 places and found itself last, behind the Poitiers University Hospital.

The boom in internal medicine

Ophthalmology is at the top of the popular specialties and gains one place, while nephrology loses one and takes second place. There has been a small increase in internal medicine, which is ranked third among the specialties chosen.

This is a real surprise because this specialty does not combine the criteria favored by future doctors: freedom in the choice of place and method of practice, possibility of technical procedures, which also implies a financial advantage. What’s Up Doc this year introduces a new regional dimension to its ranking of the university hospitals most popular with interns. This choice is undoubtedly due to the multiplicity of internship sites and training courses offered by the AP-HP, explains Matthieu Durand, editor-in-chief of the journal.
