Until the first round of the presidential election, L’argus details the proposals of the main candidates concerning the automotive sector. Éric Zemmour (Reconquête) is distinguished by sometimes extravagant measures and the desire to drastically lower corporate taxation.
On Monday March 14, the Mobilians, PFA, Fiev and CSIAM teams welcomed the candidates (or rather their respective representatives) to the Salle Gaveau in Paris. Éric Zemmour’s party, Reconquête, was able to defend its values through Sébastien Pilard. The representative of a hard right did not lack proposals to stop annoying motorists. Here’s what to remember.

Solve the competitiveness problem
Faithful to the sovereignist values of the party, Sébastien Pilard raised the problem of relocation. ” This is an opportunity offered by the European Union to Chinese brands to import their vehicles”, he said. This scenario is also valid for our French manufacturers, the representative of Zemmour having taken as an example the new DS 9 and Dacia Spring, also manufactured in Asia.

To restore the country’s competitiveness, Reconquest wishes as a priority to lower “ production taxes of 30 billion euros”. To do this, the party has already announced that it wants to remove 2 taxes: the C3S and the CVAE. In addition, Éric Zemmour is considering the creation of ” industrial free zones » where the established companies would not pay taxes and the employees would be exempt from social contributions during the 2 years following their recruitment. A ” bonus 0 chargee” is also on the agenda, without further details.
Abolish the license with points?

Unlike the other candidates, Éric Zemmour did not mention the ecological bonus or the conversion bonus. To help motorists, he proposes more outlandish measures like “ the abolition of the license points » while struggling” more severely against the real drivers ». He also advocates the total abandonment of EPZs. This last measure would be applied immediately so as not to prevent millions of French people from circulating in their own conurbation”.

Among the other proposals, Sébastien Pilard demands the return to the limit of 50 km / h in the city (without giving the possibility to the mayors to choose) and that of 90 km / h on the entire road network. The party also wants extend the validity of the technical inspection, from 2 to 3 years”and still not for two-wheelers. Difficult to understand where Reconquest is coming from with this measure as the mechanics are already struggling.
Block fuel price

Like rebellious France, Reconquête aims to block fuel prices. Zemmour speaks of reducing the current brands around €1.80 in order to relieve the consumer’s wallet. For the workers, the candidate goes further and proposes to ” reduce the fuel bill of French people who need their car”. Companies would thus bear 50% of the costs, up to a limit of €40 per month, as is already the case for public transport, for example.

- Emmanuel Macron
- Marine Le Pen
