Instead of one subscription, PlayStation Plus now consists of three subscriptions. And this costs it.
PlayStation Plus has been a single subscription for many years. You pay an amount every month. That includes free games from the PlayStation Store every month. And of course access to multiplayer. That has now changed.
Sony has announced three subscriptions. The basic subscription remains pretty much the same as PlayStation Plus as you know it now. It’s called PlayStation Plus Essential. With Essential you get two monthly free games, cloud storage, access to multiplayer and a discount on games in the PlayStation Store.
On top of that comes PlayStation Plus Extra, this subscription has all of the above. The extra comes in the fact that you get access to a library of 400 games.
The third subscription is PlayStation Plus premium. With that you get all of the above. On top of that comes the fact that you can download and stream PlayStation 1, PS2, and PSP games. Streaming PS3 games is also possible
Plus Essential costs 8.99 euros per month. 24.99 euros per quarter or 59.99 euros per year. PlayStation Plus Extra costs 13.99 euros per month. 39.99 euros per quarter or 99.99 euros per year. Then the most expensive subscription. PlayStation Plus premium will cost 16.99 euros per month. Or 49.99 euros per quarter or 119.99 euros per year.
