The pill remains a highly prescribed contraceptive, despite the various controversies that have erupted in recent years. If it is reliable, it requires a certain rigor. This is why Family Planning has seen fit to launch an application especially for this.
Advise and support women
Pill’Oops is the new mobile application that women who use oral contraception will not be able to do without. It will allow them not to forget their pill, thanks to a daily reminder. Available for free, this app was designed by Family Planning, to help women in an often overloaded daily life and allow them to experience their sexuality more serenely.
This application will also allow its users to follow their cycles, to know when they are ovulating or when their period is due. They may also find advice and ask questions about choosing a contraceptive that is best for them. A toll-free number (0800 08 11 11) is even available to have ” access to all useful information concerning contraception, abortion, or sexuality “.
Taking the wrong pill can lead to pregnancy
This application particularly targets older teenagers or those who are new to sex and who do not yet have the reflex to take their pill daily and at a fixed time. However, an oversight can have serious consequences. According to Family Planning, almost a third of women having abortions are on contraception. It is therefore urgent to teach them to be more rigorous, so as not to take any risks.
We had to find a way adapted to this generation who lives with their eyes riveted on their smartphones. According to the latest figures from the National Institute of Demographic Studies (INED), 41% of women aged 15 to 49 chose the pill as a contraceptive and women 20 to 24 are the ones who use it the most. We then better understand what the stakes are for this population.
