INFOGRAPHIC – Malnutrition affects 250 million children worldwide. Obesity is distinguished by a constant increase, including in poor countries.
Children all over the world are malnourished. In a report published on September 22, the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF take stock of stunting, obesity and undernutrition in the world. Of the 667 million children under 5, 250 million are affected by malnutrition.
Stunting has fallen sharply since 1990: the proportion of children affected has increased from 40 to 34%. A fine decline which must be maintained, according to the WHO. The same goes for undernutrition, which still affects 50 million children, or one in 13.
The obesity epidemic is still a concern. The numbers keep climbing, including in poor countries. Why doctor takes stock in an infographic.
