The ANSM warns against a printing defect in the pipettes of certain batches of Doliprane 2.4% drinkable intended for infants and children which could lead to dosing errors.
- Around thirty pipettes used to collect the correct dose of Doliprane 2.4% do not have a graduation. This defect led the ANSM to issue an alert.
- People in possession of one of these non-graduated pipettes should not use it or replace it with that of another medication in order to avoid a dosing error.
- They must return the box to a pharmacy where it will be exchanged.
If you have a box of Doliprane 2.4% drinkable at home, check its pipette before using it. The National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (ANSM) launched an alert, on Wednesday May 15, 2024, on this painkiller intended for infants and children. A defect was discovered on certain pipettes supplied with the syrup.
Doliprane pediatric: some pipettes are not graduated
The Opella Healthcare France laboratory has warned the organization responsible for guaranteeing the safety of health products of a “absence of graduation on only around thirty pipettes”. These are used to collect the right dose of drinkable syrup for children.
This defect leads the ANSM to ask people with a box of Doliprane 2.4%, oral suspension to check that the pipette is properly graduated before use. “If this is not the case, return the box to a pharmacy, it will be exchanged for you. Do not use the non-graduated pipette or the pipette of another medication, to avoid risking a dosage error”warns the body in a communicated.
It is specified that the analgesic does not present any problem.
Pipette printing fault: which batches are affected?
The pipettes with the printing defect are contained in the batches of Doliprane 2.4%, oral suspension:
- 3KLR12D1;
- 3KLR13D2;
- 3KLQ70DU;
- 3KLQ69DT;
- 3KLR14D3;
- 3KLQ71DV;
- 3KLQ72DW.
According to information provided by the ANSM, this represents more than 1.3 million boxes.
“If you buy a box of Doliprane 2.4%, oral suspension, from one of these batches, the pharmacist will check the condition of the pipette in front of you at the time of delivery. Patients can exchange their box at the pharmacy. ‘they notice that the graduation is missing’adds the organization.
The manufacturer of the pipettes has assured that it has taken measures to ensure that its new batches have the necessary graduation for the correct intake of the painkiller. In addition, no pharmacovigilance cases related to the printing defect have been reported to date.
