Increasingly higher penalties, extravagant selling prices, extended delivery times … to drive a super sports car while avoiding all these pitfalls, some buyers are turning to the occasion. But who of Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini or Aston Martin found the most enthusiasts in 2021 in France?
Buying an exceptional sports car, even a used one, is not a decision to be taken lightly. While some models, especially at Aston Martin, are strongly discounted, maintenance costs are far from following the same curve. On the contrary, they remain proportional to the price of new, and very expensive breakdowns can occur with age. But fortunately for lovers of beautiful bodies and mechanical melodies, some buyers remain ready to accept this risk. Even if it means turning more often to THE safe bet in the category: the eternal Porsche 911. Coupe, convertible or targa, recent model or collector, GT3 RS seemingly escaped from a racing grid or almost discreet Carrera … the German offers something for all tastes and (almost) all budgets. No wonder, therefore, that more than 7,000 copies still changed hands in France in the first half of 2021!

Ten times less Corvette than 911

Across the Atlantic, the Chevrolet Corvette is well capable of giving it a response. In France, on the other hand, the balance of power is quite different. Even though she ranks second in our top 25, the American has represented ten times fewer transactions than her rival! This is not, however, for lack of also benefiting from a decades-long career. The model who occupies the third step of the podium is far from being able to say the same. The Audi R8 It is only in its second generation, and it is not yet at all sure that a third version will see the light of day. At least not in this form, with an atmospheric V10 devoid of any electric assistance. But even if her replacement were to completely abandon the thermal, it would always remain possible to turn to the occasion to take advantage of a more melodious engine. The second-hand sports car market therefore seems to have a better future than ever before.
