Nice attack: 188 wounded taken care of in hospitals

This is the first ministerial assessment of the terrorist attack in Nice on the evening of July 14. And he’s terrifying. According to a press release from the Directorate General of Health (DGS), 188 patients were treated in health establishments in the Alpes-Maritimes. 52 of them are in absolute urgency, including 25 in intensive care.

For his part, François Molins, Public Prosecutor of Paris, confirmed the most terrible figures. There are already 84 people deceased, including 10 children and adolescents.

Faced with this shock wave, a medico-psychological care system was set up in Nice and in the region. It is made up of four medico-psychological emergency units (CUMP) to which the families and patients involved can go. Finally, an interministerial telephone line to help victims and their relatives was opened by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development: 01 43 17 56 46.

The “white plan” hospital triggered

In addition, from 11:30 pm last night, the health crisis center of the Ministry of Health was activated. The “White plan “health emergency hospital was thus triggered by the University Hospital Center (CHU) of Nice to cope with an influx of wounded.

On the side of political reactions, Marisol Touraine, Minister of Health, went on the night of July 14 to 15 in Nice, to the bedside of the wounded, to express her full solidarity. She also sent all her thoughts to the families and relatives of the victims. Finally, the Minister thanked hospital professionals “for their exceptional mobilization”.

Ditto for the President of the Republic, François Hollande. He went this Friday afternoon to the wounded and showed his support to the staff of the CHU Pasteur (Nice).
The Head of State then met security forces and rescue teams who intervened on the Promenade des Anglais after the attack.

Finally, he greeted the heroes for an evening “these doctors who came when they were not on duty. The volunteers, and the associations who are committed ”.
