Gazelle has been one of the best-known bicycle brands in the world for years. They continue to develop and a number of new models have come onto the market.
These new models include both electric bicycles and old-fashioned city bicycles.
In total, Gazelle has announced six new models, four of which are electric bicycles and two are city bicycles. Most new models are in a high price range, but an interesting new model has also come onto the market for the ordinary cyclist.
New electric bicycles from Gazelle
The new electric bikes that Gazelle has announced are the Grenoble C8 HMB Connect, Orange Limited HMB, Grenoble C380 HMB and the Ultimate C5 HMB. These new models cost between €2,599 and €3,899.
With a 400 Wh battery and a Bosch Active Plus motor, the Gazelle Grenoble C8 HMB Connect an interesting new model. The bicycle has a range of between 50 and 110 kilometers and is seen by the bicycle mechanic as a real all-rounder.
With the silent motor, suspension seatpost and front fork and hydraulic disc brakes, this is a very comfortable electric bicycle. You get 8 gears and can choose from 4 assistance levels.
A new Gazelle Ultimate C5 has also been released for anyone looking for the very best e-bike. With high-quality assembly from Nexus, Gates Beltdrive and Bosch, this bicycle meets the highest requirements.
New city bikes – 1 non-electric model
Fortunately, Gazelle is still developing new bicycles without an electric motor for anyone looking for an old-fashioned city bike. The HeavyDutyNL C5 HMB and Orange C7+ are the two new models that Gazelle has announced as a city bike.
The HeavyDutyNL is still an electric bicycle with a battery on the back of the bicycle. Immediately full battery you can cycle between 30 and 70 kilometers by bike and you have five gears.
The Gazelle Orange C7+ is therefore the only non-electric model that Gazelle has released. This comfortable city bike has been sold by Gazelle for a while, but this year a new model will be launched on the market.
The bicycle is available in both a ladies’ and a men’s version and has the well-known Gazelle design. The bike comes with a suspension fork and seatpost so you can ride comfortably.
Bicycle belt instead of chain
One of the most important parts of the bicycle, the chain, has undergone a true revolution in recent years. The chain seems to be a thing of the past and has been replaced by a bicycle belt, ‘belt drive’ in English.
This belt has a number of advantages compared to the chain. For example, a belt lasts longer, there is less friction, which means that you cycle lighter and the bike makes less noise and it costs you less maintenance.
The bicycle belt does not need to be lubricated and cannot rust. In any case, all these advantages convinced Gazelle to only use this bicycle belt in the new models!
