Vinegar, grandmother’s trick against insect bites
the vinegar like remedy for insect bites and itching is not a legend, it is beautiful and well a grandmother’s recipe that works! We are not talking here about wine vinegar but about White vinegar also called crystal vinegar.
If you have to react in an emergency, quickly prepare a mixture of half water, half vinegar. Your best bet is to plan ahead by making your own home remedy for bites and itching.
DIY: soothing vinegar lotion
- 25 ml of lavender vinegar (apple cider vinegar in which lavender flowers are steeped)
- 25 drops of tea tree essential oil
- 25 drops of lavender essential oil
- 25 ml of mineral water
Mix these ingredients in a bottle and keep this remedy cool. If a person is bitten by an insect (mosquito, wasp …) apply this preparation to the painful area. Disinfectant and soothing, this lotion is also very effective on scratches and all kinds of itching.
Good to know: in an emergency, a puncture can also be relieved by rubbing it with an onion or garlic clove cut in half, a branch of parsley or a cabbage leaf lightly crushed to make it juicy.
