The films are delayed, but Top Gun’s Flight Simulator is also postponed. Read here why and until when.
Earlier we already knew that the film will come later than planned. Now it appears that the ‘Microsoft Flight Simulator’ Top Gun expansion has also been postponed. After several delays, Top Gun: Maverick was finally set to hit theaters in November. Not. Paramount has again delayed the release date and the highly anticipated sequel will now arrive another six months later. Current schedule is May 27, 2022. This is due to concerns about COVID-19 and delta variants.
Flight Simulator from Top Gun is postponed
The decision regarding the film also affected the planned Top Gun expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator, as Asobo Studio has delayed that as well.
“Paramount Pictures recently moved the release date of Top Gun: Maverick to Memorial Day weekend, May 27, 2022,” wrote the studio in a short blog post. “As we previously announced, the Top Gun: Maverick expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator for Windows 10 PC, Steam, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox Game Pass will be released alongside the movie. We look forward to sharing more information in the future. “
Still a pity
Corona also throws a spanner in the works here. That’s a shame, we still have to wait quite a long time for both the film and the simulator. So Christmas will no longer be made, so it is not under the cherry tree. Still, given the marketing synergy between the expansion and the film, it’s not too surprising that Asobo has delayed the simulator. It cannot be otherwise…
The studio hasn’t revealed much about what the free expansion entails yet. This has been announced. An announcement teaser previously showed fighter jets and an aircraft carrier, so you might be able to take off and land at sea. But we have to wait a little longer for all this beauty.
