The American hospital group Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, in the United States, has made health its number one priority. This legitimate choice is accompanied by the promotion of sports activities with the opening of gyms, the ban on smoking around the hospital. This policy in favor of a better hygiene of life also passes the hunt for bad habits such as junk food. A sign of MacDonald, the American giant, installed for twenty years in a hospital in the center has borne the brunt of this discrimination. He will have to clear the floor to stick to the health requirements of the patients and the management of the hospital center.
“It’s not just the question of McDonald’s, it’s a broader desire of Cleveland Clinic to try to transform the discussion from talking about ‘care for the sick’ but ‘health care'”, justifies a spokesperson for the hospital group, Eileen Sheil, quoted by AFP.
Fries and sugary sodas banned
If the Big Macs that were so popular will disappear from the diet of patients and residents around the hospital, it took ten years to succeed in push McDonald’s out.
Hamburgers are not the only ones to have been banned by the hospital center. Before them, it was chocolate bars, sugary drinks and restaurant fryers that were removed from sale.
No more junk food, only healthy food and sport. With these radical measures, the hospital chooses instead of its patients who will now have to sulk the pleasure of letting go from time to time.
