An unprecedented complaint will soon be filed by patients with Lyme disease. They blame the negligence of the government and the collaboration of the health authorities with the laboratories which manufacture unreliable serodiagnostics tests.
Ineffective diagnostic tests are still marketed in France
Hundreds of French people with Lyme disease are preparing to file a criminal complaint with the Paris prosecutor’s office. The latter accuse the health authorities, and in particular the Ministry of Health, for having been negligent in authorizing the commercialization of diagnostic tests, even though they have proved to be ineffective in the detection of this degenerative disease.
Questioned by France TV Info, Julien Fouray, one of the lawyers for these patients, details the objectives of this complaint: ” We specifically reproach the health authorities for the collaborative links that some of their members have maintained with laboratories manufacturing serodiagnostic tests. which we are now certain that they are totally ineffective “.
More than 25,000 people are affected by Lyme disease in France
This complaint particularly targets the National Reference Center (CNR) of Strasbourg accused of having maintained links of ” consanguinity With the laboratories that manufacture these tests. By extension, the Ministry of Health is accused of negligence in the choice of the experts forming this body.
However, the government has made Lyme disease a priority by launching, in 2016, a major national plan to fight this disease, which is transmitted by tick bites. Corn the complainants believe that the authorities are not acting quickly enough today, even though there are methods to diagnose this disease which, if diagnosed early, can be completely cured. Lyme disease now affects more than 25,000 people in France.
