Lyme disease patients have joined together to take legal action and accuse health authorities of being responsible for a huge health scandal.
The State and the health authorities before justice
Patients, suffering from Lyme disease, a disease which is transmitted mainly by tick bites, announced through the voice of their lawyer that they were filing a criminal complaint against the State, the National Security Agency of medicine (ANSM) and the National Reference Center (CNR) in Strasbourg. Trafficking in influence, abuse of corporate assets and concealment of abuse of corporate assets, endangering the life of others, violation of the principle of independence of experts and of the principle of absence of conflict of interest constitute the reasons of this complaint.
According to information revealed by RMC, these 300 complainants mainly accuse the director of the CNR of having worked in concert with the laboratory manufacturing the only Lyme disease screening test marketed in France, so that today diagnoses are only possible on the result of this test, which many consider unreliable.
Patients demand withdrawal of Lyme disease test
This test, Elisa, in fact only reveals the presence of 3 to 5 bacteria that can lead to Lyme disease. However, to be really effective, a test should make it possible to observe the presence of more than ten bacteria.. If a patient is tested negative, the investigations therefore stop, even though he may be infected and most doctors do not seek to go further, because they risk being sued by Health Insurance for “no -respect of protocol ”.
The patients who have come together are now calling for the outright withdrawal of this test, which they describe as ” absurd “ and want the culpability of the health authorities to be recognized in the responsibility of these tens of thousands of patients, who have never been diagnosed and who are today, for many of them, in serious condition.
