The association Tous PartenairesCovid has launched a research project “LONG COVID TRACKING”, To identify and define the consequences of Covid-19 and its consequences. Online questionnaires are available, to be completed by infected people.
The “LONG COVID TRACKING” project
The Tous PartenairesCovid association was launched in 2020 by patients, families, caregivers, researchers and civil society to help patients with Covid-19. One of the objectives of the project “LONG COVID TRACKING” is “to help better understand the aftermath of COVID ” at the medical, social and professional level. The goal is to put in place actions to meet the needs of these patients while involving them and their families in the project. Indeed, the pathology being recent, “it seems that patients can also present various forms of Long COVID (also persistent COVID or chronic COVID), of which the population and the scientific community are gradually becoming aware.”This participatory research puts patients to work, by sharing their experiences. Scientists will then be able to attempt to construct a “portrait of these forms of Long COVID”, thanks to reliable results. The conclusions will be made public via a platform: “The overall results of this research will be presented on a website that can be viewed by all”.
Participatory research
The method used is the questionnaire, to be completed online by the volunteers. The first form aims to collect demographic data and initial characteristics of Covid-19. Secondly, surveys, based on the results of the first questionnaire, are offered to participants at regular intervals. Thus, patients become real “Co-constructors of research”, alongside caregivers and researchers. It is for this reason that the Association invites all people who have had Covid-19 or who think they have had it, even if this has not been confirmed by an RT-PRC test, to participate in the study. The greater the number of participants, the better will be understood the consequences of Covid-19. For people who haven’t contracted the disease, the founders encourage them to talk about the project if someone they know has been infected with the coronavirus. The Association’s vocation is to represent patients with long form Covid-19 and to meet their needs.
