From robot to car. Lego has released Optimus Prime as a product in the only proper way.
It’s been a while since there was a hype around Transformers. The films with Michael Bay were a true spectacle in the cinema. Next year you can expect the successor of bumblebee in the bios, but that aside. Optimus Prime, arguably the most famous transformer, has now been released by Lego as its own product.
The latest Lego set will be available from June 1. The price is 169.99 euros. What’s so cool about this building set is that the Lego Optimus Prime can actually be transformed. You have to put it together first. Do you have a sweet tooth, because the whole consists of 1,508 building blocks.
When unfolded, Optimus Prime stands as a stately statue on your table. But you can also fold it and then it is a truck. There is no automatic way to initiate the transformation. So you will have to do that yourself. But that shouldn’t spoil the fun, right?
This is also an innovative tour de force for Lego. It is one of the first times that the Danish brick builder actually releases two products in a building set (robot and car). And that without having to take anything apart.
