People being treated for cancer are among those for whom vaccination against the influenza A H1N1 virus is strongly recommended. To answer the many questions of these patients and the professionals who take care of them, INCa, in agreement with the Ministry of Health and Sports, has issued recommendations for the vaccination of these people. The Association for Research on Cancer, the National League against Cancer as well as the hospital federations: the French Hospital Federation (FHF), the Private Hospital Federation (FHP), the National Federation of Cancer Centers ( FNCLCC) and the Federation of non-profit private hospitals and assistance establishments (Fehap) are involved in this information process.
The INCa recommendations are based on those issued by the High Council of Public Health and on the directives of the Ministry of Health and take into account the situation of patients undergoing treatment as well as certain specific situations (transplant, children) . INCa reiterates the interest for relatives of patients treated and for healthcare professionals in contributing to the protection of patients.
