I am a 57-year-old woman. I have stomach problems and the doctor says I have an esophagitis. I think my digestion is completely disturbed. How do we get out of here?

What do you mean by completely disturbed digestion? Digestion consists of a series of processes that begin with chewing and mixing with saliva from the food in the mouth and ending with the removal of fluid from the stool into the large intestine. Various processes take place in between. In addition to esophagitis, you may have other digestive tract problems that may or may not require treatment. But “complete digestive upset” is not a diagnosis a doctor can work with.
I would ask the GP what his treatment plan is for the esophagitis and what he expects from it. If you continue to have complaints, submit them again, until there is a solution that is acceptable to you.
