Ineos is launching pre-reservations for the Grenadier, which will start at € 47,600 excluding tax or € 59,500 including tax on the French market in two-seater utility vehicles. A five-seater version will follow despite a significant ecological penalty, as will a double-cabin pick-up. The 4 x 4 now has its online configurator.
Ineos opens pre-reservations for the Grenadier, the inaugural model of the German-British brand. The outright all-terrain will be produced in France, in the Hambach Smart factory bought from the Daimler group. For now, the process is reserved for some 75,000 people who had already expressed their interest to the manufacturer. Pre-orders will be open to everyone from October 14, 2021. They will require a refundable deposit of € 450. Orders will be confirmed in early 2022. In France, the Grenadier will first be launched in a two-seater utility version approved in the N1 category in order to escape the ecological penalty. Its basic price: € 47,600 excluding tax or € 59,500 including tax.
Already four versions planned
Other variants of the Grenadier will follow, including a five-seater “tourism” model. Ineos expects low demand in France due to the maximum ecological penalty the vehicle will receive (€ 40,000 in 2022, € 50,000 in 2023), but it will offer this variation in France despite this. The firm relying on full equipment and few options, the price of the model should be only slightly higher than that of the two-seater utility. These two variants, but also a five-seater utility with the forward and less inclined rear seat, can already be configured online and will soon be joined by the Grenadier double-cab pickup.
A Grenadier à la carte
the configurator du Grenadier first proposes to choose between the two six-cylinder turbo BMW engines on offer, namely a gasoline unit of 285 hp and a diesel of 249 hp. Both come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive with a locking center differential. Electronic locking of the front and rear differentials is available as an option. Eleven body colors are then offered and can be contrasted by a black or white roof. Then comes the choice of rims, with a steel model and two alloy models and a diameter of 17 or 18 inches. At this point, you also have the option of opting for off-road tires. Still crossing, a “snorkel” admission is available. Then come the exterior equipment, such as the double sunroof “safari”, the trunk ladder and the steps. The cabin configuration continues with the choice of floor covering and steering wheel, as well as the addition of a compass in particular.
Eight Ineos points of sale in France mid-2022
Ineos is currently setting up its distribution and after-sales network. In France, the firm plans to have eight points of sale by the launch of Grenadier. The manufacturer is relying in particular on collaboration with specialists BMW (for engine maintenance), Land Rover (for off-road) or even Bosch. ” If desired, customers in our key markets will be able to purchase pomegranate online, including arranging financing and any possible take-back agreements. But we know that most customers will want to test drive our vehicle before they buy it, which explains the importance of a large physical network. Explains Mark Tennant, Commercial Director of Ineos. The first deliveries are scheduled for July 2022.
