In recent years, our life expectancy has continued to increase. If, in the middle of the 18th century, the French could consider themselves lucky when they were over the age of 30, today life expectancy in France is, on average, 82 years.
Women show more longevity than men: indeed, the latter can expect to reach 78 years, while women, they generally exceed 80 years. Gender inequality, again and again!
A century of life expectancy
And according to a recent study by the Office for National Statistics (Great Britain), in 2057, British little girls will be born with a life expectancy of around 100 years. The little English will have to wait until 2080 before they can observe a new century.
The Office for National Statistics also recalls that in 35 years, British life expectancy has increased by 7 years. “These new data will have a direct impact on our public health policy” add researchers. Time will tell…
Life expectancy is not unlimited: according to a recent study, you could never live older than 115 years.
