The Hummer is now also electric and is still huge, now you can make it even bigger with some software.
We all know the Hummer as a PC Main Street tractor. The old models didn’t really have a very good reputation. However, GMC has released a new Hummer that is still big, but electric.
Making Hummer even bigger with software
GMC Hummer EV owners will soon be able to lift their colossus nearly six inches more in the air, all thanks to a simple software update. Over the coming weeks, GMC will add a new “Extract Mode”. Allows drivers to lift their vehicle to avoid off-road obstacles – on all First Edition models of the all-electric pickup. Essentially, Extract mode lets drivers lift their vehicle so they can avoid off-road obstacles.
As cool as it may seem, you can’t always use it. The suspension mode can only be used at low speeds. Frequent use of the function will also cause your vehicle to cool down. Overall, Extract mode provides 15.9 inches of ground clearance for the vehicle, giving it an edge over other off-road vehicles such as the Rivian R1T, Ram TRX, F150 Raptor, and Bronco Raptor.
Limited availability
The Hummer is a success. Demand for the Hummer has far exceeded GMC’s expectations and the automaker is struggling to ramp up production. Only one Hummer EV was delivered last year, and the automaker has received more than 65,000 reservations for its Hummer EV pickups and SUVs. It’s even worse in Europe, because you can’t buy it here (yet). You can import, but then you still have that queue.
