The Social Security deficit should be brought below 13 billion euros in 2014. With new revenues and a turn of the screw on health.
17.5 billion in 2012, a billion less this year, the government is counting on 2014 to limit the damage and post a Social Security deficit limited to 13 billion. A still significant deficit but which would be the best result since the start of the economic crisis of 2008.
To achieve this, Jean-Marc Ayrault is counting on new recipes, around 4 billion. The plan on the family quotient and the increase in contributions for retirement should largely contribute to this.
At the same time, the government has planned a savings plan of 2.4 billion euros in health spending. Presented this Thursday by the Minister of Health, this plan should not shine by its originality: lower prices for certain reimbursed drugs, lower prices for several health professionals, biologists and radiologists, turn of the screw for hospitals, as recommended by the Court of Auditors. It is true that hospitals account for 44% of health spending.
