Radiologist at the Liverpool Cancer therapy center in Sydney, Australia, Mark Rudovitch supports patients in the fight against cancer on a daily basis. At the turn of a conversation, a woman with breast cancer confides to him that hair losswas a harder trauma to overcome than breast removal. This is how the 28-year-old specialist had the idea to let his hair grow in order to sell it to an association that manufactures wigs. But the radiologist decided to get a little more involved in the fight against cancer.
Helped by his companion photographer, he began to pose in parodies of photos of celebrities such as Kate Middleton, Johnny Depp in Jack Sparrow of the Pirate of the Caribbean … Funny shots in the service of a noble cause since the funds raised through this campaign are intended to buy hair prostheses for patients undergoing chemotherapy.
This project is part of the DryJuly, a cancer awareness month in Australia. The photos of Mark Rudovitch disguised as Kim Kardashian, Snoop Dog or Janet Jackson are visible on the project’s Facebook page.
Mark Rudovich’s operation was successful. To date, he and his team at the radiology center have managed to raise nearly 19,000 euros (approximately $ 20,898) for fight cancer.
