Microsoft is adding another 76 games to Xbox’s backwards compatibility program. That is good news.
The company has this known created during the Xbox’s 20th anniversary event. Highlights include the entire Max Payne series and FEAR franchise, in addition to Skate 2 and Star Wars: Jedi Knight II. If you have an Xbox, you’ll have plenty of games to play this coming Christmas.
Games for Xbox
They are almost all old titles that take you back to other times. Every title Microsoft adds will support Auto HDR on Xbox Series X and Series S consoles. You will also see an increase in resolution when playing original Xbox games. The Xbox Series X and Xbox One X render those titles four times their native resolution. While the Xbox Series S does this three times and Xbox One S and Xbox One double.
In addition, 11 titles will support FPS Boost. The feature increases a game’s frame rate to 60 frames per second. 26 titles that were already part of the backwards compatibility library now also support FPS Boost. Included in that list are Fallout: New Vegas, The Elder Scrolls IV, Dragon Age: Origins, and Dead Space 2.
Last time
Don’t expect more games in the future. This is the limit. It’s the last time Microsoft will add new titles to the backwards compatibility program. They said this earlier in 2019.
“As we continue to focus on preserving and improving the art form of games, we have reached the limit of our ability to bring new games from the past to the catalog due to licensing, legal and technical constraints,” said Peggy, head of the Xbox Compatibility Program. Hopefully, the final list of around 700 games will include some of your favorite titles.
